Powerboat Training
Powerboat Courses are provided for club members only
Powerboat Level 2
This is a two day course usually taught on two successive days and suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience who wish to improve their skills in a formal manner. The age range is for young adults upwards as some physical effort is required.
The aim is to teach safe and precise power boat handling using the engine and the wind to control the boat. Much of the time will be spent on the water learning and practising a number of manoeuvres for different situations. The RYA syllabus also includes some general aspects of boat use and navigation appropriate to inland and tidal waters. These are taught in short theoretical sessions.
There are no prerequisites for this course although some experience of driving outboard boats may be useful.
