Shampain Chaser

PURSUIT RACES
Over the season four pursuit races will be run, these are as follows:
- Shampain Chaser (traditionally held on the opening day of the season)
- Spring Pursuit
- Summer Pursuit
- Autumn Pursuit (Pink Gin Chaser)
These are handicap races lasting 60 minutes, where the start is staggered. The
boat/helm with the fastest combined Portsmouth Handicap and Personal Handicap is
the last to start. In theory if everyone sails to their boats yardstick and personal
handicap, all boats should finish simultaneously. The winner is the lead boat after
60min. The exception to the rule is the Shampain Chaser pursuit, which will be
sailed off Portsmouth Yardstick only.
