Push The Boat Out - Try Sailing Day

25 May, 10:00 - 16:00

Loch Venachar's PTBO Day will be Sat 25th May, 10am – 4pm

The free taster sessions in dinghies or stable Sailability trimarans will run throughout the day. An experienced sailor will take you out in a stable sailing dinghy. Sessions are about an hour, and open to anyone – adults and children.

The day is ideal for beginners wanting to learn about sailing, those who used to sail and are looking to take it up again, or as part of a family day out in the beautiful Trossachs. It is also a great opportunity for regular sailors to find out about the club. There will be members and instructors to answer your questions about our friendly club and the RYA sailing courses we are running this summer.

Age restriction: Sessions are available for ages 5 and upwards. Young children should be accompanied by a guardian on the boat.

What to bring: Clothing suitable for sailing including a wind proof and splash proof cagoule and footwear such as old trainers that you don't mind getting wet. It will be a bit cooler on the water, so bring an extra layer or two, and a hat. Also a change of clothes just in case.

Avoid jeans and wellies. In general artificial fibre/sports clothes are more comfortable than cotton.

We supply buoyancy aids.

Sailing and windsurfing sessions are free, but must be booked. Booking will open at the end of March. In the meantime email ptbo@venachar.org.uk with any questions or to register your interest and we will let you know when booking goes live.

Each dinghy can take up to 3 adult visitors, or 1 adult and 3 smaller children. Please tell us how many there are in your group, and the ages of any children. Get in touch if you have a larger group.
