This event is the first event in 2018 and kicks off the second half for the 2017/18 Scottish Travellers Series which consists of the RYAS Spring Championship (Traveller 4), Traveller 5 on 12/13 May at Bardowie Loch and Traveller 6 on 2/3 June at East Lothian YC.

The event is open to Optimist, Topper, Feva, Laser 4.7, 420 and 29er class dinghies. This is a racing event, although there will be coaches on hand to assist novice sailors in the Optimist, Topper and Feva classes during the event. As the first junior and youth event of the season this is a perfect event to get back into the swing of racing after the winter and with the coach support is a great opportunity for sailors to participate in their first traveller.

On the Saturday afternoon after racing there will be a session on transitioning for junior sailors thinking about which youth class they might like to sail. This will be delivered by RYA Scotland with the Youth Class Transition Coaches and the High Performance Manager on hand to answer questions and youth class boats available to try. Please contact Abbie Hewitt to let us know if you are keen to attend this session so that we can get an idea of numbers.

You will need access to a boat to enter the event but RYA Scotland has a limited number of Toppers which can be hired for the weekend. Please contact Matt Toynbee if this is of interest to you or you have any other questions about the event.
